Binder for coatings of fatty acid esters (produced on metals by electrophoresis) produced from a mixture of esters of polyols with (a) polyethenoid fatty acids or mixtures of these acids and monoethenoid fatty acids or mixtures of the first named acids and saturated fatty acids or mixtures of all three named acids and (b) monoethenoid fatty acids modified by addition of alpha,beta-ethylenically unsaturated acids or anhydrides of such acids or alkali metal, NH4 or NH2 salts of such acids or part esters of such acids with alcohols having 1-10 C atoms.
