A latch for double door flaps 2, 3 comprises a housing 4 containing two superimposed sliding bolts 10, 11 which are urged by a spring 20 to project each from an opposite end of the housing each bolt when the flaps are closed strikes an abutment 16, 17 on each door successively and engages with the abutments in turn. The noses 13, 13a of the bolt 11 engage both abutments thereby retaining the bolt until after the bolt 10 is released by opening door leaf 3, the bolt 11 then being released by opening door leaf 2. The housing 4 is secured to a base which is fixed to a support behind the gap between the flaps. A recess is provided in the housing and in the bolts for the spring which fits in a channel 22 in the bottom of the housing. The abutments have holes 23 for adjustably positioning them on the doors. In a modification the housing has a bottom cover with the spring channel and the ends of the spring are tightly coiled. One bolt has an end opening through which access to a fastening screw may be effected.</p> |
