PURPOSE:To obtain the head having excellent strength, vibration characteristics and wear resistance and stable characteristics with lapse of time by forming a shell strength layer of a specific structural body contg. dicyclopentadiene. CONSTITUTION:A material which can form a crosslinked methacesis polymer contg. a methacesis polymn. catalyst system and a methacesis polymerizable monomer contg. the dicyclopentadiene is poured into a head forming mold and is subjected to reaction curing in the mold at the time of molding the golf club head. Reinforcing fibers of a prescribed shape are previously disposed in the prescribed position in the mold and the inside of the mold is previously evacuated to a vacuum or filled with an inert gas after mold clamping in the case of molding of the head reinforced with the reinforcing fibers. The reactive liquid is then poured into the mold and is subjected to the reaction curing. The molding pressure and molding temp. are lowered in this way and the molding time is shortened. In addition, the change in the performance by the atm., such as temp. and humidity of the outside world, is lessened and the head having high reliability is obtd.
