A liquid lubricating detergent comprises an amino alcohol soap, an alkanolamine, e.g. triethanolamine, an anionic surface active synthetic detergent, e.g. a sodium alkylarylsulphonate, a sequestering agent, e.g. tetrasodium salt of ethylene diaminotetraacetic acid and a condensation product of ethylene oxide with polypropylene glycol. The components are added successively to the amino alcohol soap with stirring at 20‹ C. Optional ingredients are a bactericide, e.g. a quaternary ammonium salt and a silicone antifoaming agent. The amino-alcohol soap may be triethanolamine oleate or the di-isopropanolamine derivative of coconut oil fatty acids.</p> |
