<p>PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency and the reliability of magnetic tape medium input in the transfer mechanism of a magnetic tape medium by conduction an operation to automatically transfer a cell inputted to an entry cell to an accommodating cell. CONSTITUTION:After the door 305 of an entry cell 304 is opened, a magnetic tape medium is inputted, the door 305 of the entry cell 304 is closed and the information of the entry cell 304 is reported to a host apparatus, whether another operating command has been issued is confirmed. When the operating command has been issued, it is preferentially executed. When the operating command has not been issued, whether there is the magnetic tape medium in the entry cell 304 is confirmed and, when there is no magnetic tape medium, an operation is terminated. On the other hand, when there is the magnetic tape medium in the entry cell 304, whether a magnetic tape apparatus 303 can be used is confirmed and, when the magnetic tape apparatus 303 can be used, the magnetic tape medium is transferred from the entry cell 304 to the magnetic tape apparatus 303. Thus, the processing efficiency and the reliability of magnetic tape medium input can be improved.</p> |
