1,135,042. Laminated adhesive tape. J. S. VITA. 21 June, 1966 [23 June, 1965; 15 July, 1965], Nos. 26506/65 and 30002/65. Heading B5N. A self-adhesive strapping tape is made up of two superimposed webs 11, 12 with reinforcement means of fibrous material therebetween, one surface of the tape having a pressure sensitive adhesive property and the other surface having a release property so that the tape when in roll form may be easily unrolled. The webs 11, 12 may be of paper, one having a surface (14) of polyisobutylene or synthetic rubber adhesive and the other being silicone treated or metallized. The fibrous reinforcement may comprise filaments longitudinally and/or transversely of the tape, or a scrim, or discrete fibres, and may comprise jute, cotton, glass, nylon, or polypropylene fibres. A thermoplastic sheet, e.g. of polypropylene, polyethylene, or " Melinex " (Registered Trade Mark) may be placed between the sheets 11, 12 to provide means whereby the sheets can be joined by applying heat and pressure. |
