A vibratory vacuum drying apparatus, especially for use in a freeze-drying plant, consists of horizontal plates 3, 4, 5 arranged in a vertical stack. The granules to be dried are fed, via the hopper 11, to the plate 3 which undergoes vibration by means of the drive means 6 such that the granules make progressive movement in the direction of the arrow in the figure until they reach the radial slot 7 which directs them to the next plate and so on. The granules are finally discharged into hopper 10. The assembly is contained in a vacuum vessel 1 and the plates 3, 4, 5 are heated by the elements 19, 20, 21. |
