Solids blending apparatus comprises a vessel 1 of rectangular cross-section and constant depth having a metering zone 2 into which material to 'be blended is fed via pipes 9 and grid 6, a baffle-free stabilising zone 3, the height of which is greater than the product of its width x tanα, whereα=slope angle of the blended solids, and a wedge-shaped discharge zone 4, the walls 8 of which include an angle less than 0.8 x (180‹-2α). The solids blend is discharged via outlet 5 and gap 12 between roller 7 and the vessel 1.</p> |
