[Also in Divisions G2-G3 and G4] Projection apparatus for the analysis of photographs comprises an optical system mounted on a frame 5 movably supported by two carriages 6 and 8 for motor-driven orthogonal motion relative to each other, and separate objectives 14, 15 whereby images of film 24 are projected at different enlargements on to screens 18 and 19, a reference image of reticule 26 being superposed on the film images. Films for analysis, as of cloud chamber tracks, are carried in magazines 21, 22, 23 axially shiftable by control button on the projection cabinet to bring a selected film into alignment with the optical system. Step-by-step unwinding of the film is also controlled by the operator. The co-ordinates of the carriage positions may be automatically recorded using rotary scales on the driving screws, and photoelectric counting devices. |
