A process for the conditioning of a thermoplastic film by short-term heating to a temperature at which the film retains only slight dimensional stability, is characterized in that during the heating the film is supported on an unheated support having an unbroken smooth surface with anti-adhesive properties, and the heating of the film takes place entirely from the side facing away from the support. The support may be a rotating drum 3 coated with a silicone rubber layer 4, and exposed to radiation from infra-red heaters 5 kept at a fixed distance from the drum. |
