Atmospheric distillation of liquids

Atmospheric distillation of liquids, pref. sea water, by evaporating the liquid in the usual way in the presence of air and condensing the vapour in the resultant air-vapour mixture by cooling, the material transfer taking place by diffusion, or natural or forced convection. A carrier gas is used instead of air, with av. mol. wt. less than that of air.
