Polyesteramides with pendant amide groups and having the formula are prepared by reacting at 20-200‹ C. a 4,6 - dioxa - 1 - azbicyclo - (3,3,0) - octane with a dicarboxylic acid anhydride in which R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> denote hydrogen or aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic radicals which may be substituted; R<SP>2</SP> may also be an alkoxymethylene, allyloxymethylene or an aryloxymethylene radical; R<SP>3</SP> is a saturated or unsaturated substituted or unsubstituted C 2-3 carbon chain or part of a cycloaliphatic or aromatic ring which may be substituted. Reaction may take place in a current of inert gas and/or in an inert solvent. |
