The adjustable back-rest 3, of the present Specification, is pivoted to the base frame 1 and the loin rest slide 10 is actuatable, by means of a lever 11, by pivoting it about a centre, in front of the connection between 1 and 3. In one form the lever (6, Fig. 1, not shown) is carried on a pivot fixed to frame 1. As shown, the pin 14 is guided along a slot 15, as the lever 11 is rotated, with teeth 12 engaging fixed rack 13. The lever 11 may carry an arm rest. The stay 4 may be replaced by electrical or hydraulic actuating means. |
