1279794 Ceramics DOW CORNING CORP 12 Jan 1971 [12 Feb 1970] 1385/71 Heading C2J [Also in Division C3] Ceramic articles are produced by first forming a moulding composition comprising (1) 80- 90% wt. of a volatile-free anhydrous filler of magnesium silicate, aluminium silicate, zirconium silicate, MgO, Al 2 O 3 , ZnO, SiC, Si 3 N 4 or ThO 2 and (2) 10-20% wt. of a binder comprising an organosiloxane copolymer, see Division C3, the copolymer being admixed with 0À1-10% wt. of an organic peroxide curing catalyst. The moulding composition is shaped, cured and then fired at 500‹ to 2000‹ C. until a ceramic article is obtained. |
