<p>A hand-or electrically driven meat tenderising machine has a shaft integral with a slotted plate which rests on the meat in the working position and through which can be lowered downwardly directed needles or knives attached at their top end to a plate which is integral with a sleeve surrounding the shaft, together with a locking mechanism for holding the slotted plate and shaft in contact with the meat while the needles are forced into it by the downward motion of the sleeve. When the needles or knives are withdrawn the sleeve and knife-holding plate are pressed against the locking means, causing them to be released.</p> |
