<p>PURPOSE:To prevent discoloring of a color filter and enhance color reproducibility by dispersing an ultraviolet absorber inside the color filter which receives ultraviolet radiation at the time of lighting a fluorescent lamp, and forming an ultraviolet absorbing layer comprising thin films of zinc oxide on the front face of the color filter. CONSTITUTION:Six discharge spaces are provided inside a sealed container main body 1 by partition walls 5 and a green fluorescent material is applied to the wall surface of each discharge space 6a, 7a and a red fluorescent material to the wall surface of each space 6b, 7b and a blue fluorescent material to the wall surface of each space 6c, 7c. Electrodes 14a to 14c and 15a to 15c are provided and a plurality of discharge passages are defined between each electrode and a cathode 9. After a mercury getter 16 is heated at high frequencies and mercury is supplied into the container 1, a color filter 17 of silicon rubber having thin films of zinc oxide formed on both sides thereof and having fine particles of zinc oxide uniformly dispersed therein is attached to the front face of a front plate 2 to form a fluorescent lamp. In the fluorescent lamp, discoloring of the color filter can be restrained throughout the life of the lamp and good characteristic of the time rate of change of light transmittance can be obtained.</p> |
