<p>CaCO3-Contg. fertiliser granulates are produced by working fine CaCO3 into granulates of 3-25% water content by means of an alkali(ne earth) cpd. as consolidating agent, and drying the product. The CaCO3 may be treated with 2-25%, pref. 4-15%, Ca(NO3)2 soln. and with 10-100% CaO or Ca(OH)2, or the Ca(NO3)2 may be replaced by MgSO4 or MgCo2 soln. Kieserite or other salt contg. MgSO4 or MgCl2 and/or alkali salts, esp. Na or K salts may be added during or before granulation, and finely-divided metals, esp. Cu, Zn, Mn, Fe, Co, Mo or their oxides or salts may also be added, together with granulation aids, e.g. clay, alumina or bentonite. Prefd. fertilisers contain CaCO3 and (a) 0.5-12% water-insol. MgO and/or 0.5-10% Na2O; or (b) 1-50% CaO and/or Ca(OH) 2 and 0.5-10% water-insol. salts; both may opt. contain trace elements.</p> |
