<p>Device for effecting the hydraulic extension of a hollow tie bar of a pretensioned rolling mill stand, independently of the clamping nut, uses a tie bar with a pot shaped gripping head consisting of a hydraulic tensioning device with the tensioning force acting on the front face of a core pin mounted in a blind axial hole of the tie bar and supported by the bottom of this hole. The front face of this core pin is exposed, so that the cylinder of the hydraulic device can be easily connected to and disconnected from the tension rod. The connection has to be able to withstand tension. A separate tensioning device is used for each tie rod of the mill stand. This is a quick and cheap way of tensioning tierods.</p> |
