<p>1314377 Lawn mowers QUALCAST (LAWN MOWERS) Ltd 27 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 41561/70 Heading A1F A lawn mower has a cutting cylinder, shown in ghost lines in Fig. 2, and a bottom blade 11 which is attached at its rear by leaf springs 12 and at its front by a T-shaped bar 17 and spring 19, its height being adjustable by rotating the nut 20. The rear rollers 31 are supported on levers (38), Fig. 5 (not shown) which are fixed to manually adjustable members 41, the latter co-operating resiliently with indentations 42 to variably position the rollers in accordance with the desired cutting height. The handle 21 is fixed to a horizontal bar (60), Fig. 3 (not shown) which is rotatably mounted beneath housings 22. The rod 23, one end of which is fixed to the handle, serves to limit the motion of the handle in conjunction with plate 33. An indentation in the upper portion of plate 33 serves to retain the handle in either of its extreme positions, i.e. operating and stowing positions. The cutting cylinder is driven by an electric A.C. motor at, for example 2000 r.p.m., by means of a toothed belt and moulded plastics pulleys. The cylinder has three blades and is about four inches in diameter. The front wheels 30 are attached to their axle 51 by means of plastics bearings as shown in Fig. 6.</p> |
