<p>Phenols in aq. soln. are purified and recovered by treating the aqs. phenol soln. with polyurethane foam at 1 - 94 degrees C sufficiently long for the removal and adsorption of the phenol, and then separating the treated liquid from the polyurethane foam. The adsorption of the phenol is rapid, and the regeneration is simple and complete. The phenol is recovered for further use and the aq. liquid does not cause pollution. The method is economical, as polyurethane foam waste can be used.</p> |
