<p>PURPOSE:To surely prevent a magnetic tape from sticking on a rotary cylinder and being caught up thereby, by detecting the sticking of the tape on the cylinder by rotating the rotary cylinder in the stationary state of the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:A rotary cylinder 4 is controlled by a servo circuit 21 so that it rotates at a prescribed number of revolutions. When transition of a mode is started and transition from a stop mode to a recording or reproducing mode is made, a pinch roller 20 comes into pressure contact with the shaft of a capstan motor 5. When the cylinder 4 is made to rotate by disengaging a braking mechanism 17, the tape 1 does not move in the direction of rotation of the cylinder 4 when it is not in a state of sticking on the cylinder 4. Therefore a reel does not rotate and no signal of rotation of the reel is detected from a revolution number detector 11 of a reel motor 7. When the tape 1 is in the state of sticking on the cylinder 4, on the other hand, the signal of rotation of the reel is detected from the detector 11.</p> |
