HEAT TREATMENT

PURPOSE:To carry out internal modification and surface treatment in a single process by rendering toughness to the whole of a material to be treated by low-frequency induction heating and improving the wear resistance and fatigue strength of the surface layer of the material by high-frequency induction heating. CONSTITUTION:A material to be treated is heat-treated by low-frequency induction heating to render toughness to the whole of the material by modification. The material is then heat-treated by high-frequency induction heating to improve the wear resistance and fatigue strength of the surface layer of the material. The ratio of the low frequency to the high frequency is regulated to 2-10.
