The amount of dye necessary for shade matching a dyed acrylonitrile polymer using cationic dyes is given by the equation in which T N is the shading temperature, TF is the dyeing temperature and a is a fibrespecific constant indicating the temperature variation which halves or doubles tgα(100‹C), p is the relative amount of dye necessary for N x 100, shading and given by p= - N is the 10 replenishing addition of dye expressed as an amount of thermoregulator having the same liquor exhaustion rate, b is the amount of thermoregulator which corresponds to the amount of dye of the dyeing recipe in terms of the liquor exhaustion rate, tF is the liquor exhaustion time for dyeing at the dyeing temperature and tN is the liquor exhaustion time for the additional feed at the shading temperature TN, alternatively the value of p may be fixed by the additional use of a thermoregulator so that TN is equal to TF the additional amount of thermoregulator being given by The thermoregulators are colourless cationic compounds some of which are retarders. |
