PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a display part by providing a peak level selecting means for the output of a level comparing means. CONSTITUTION:The peak level selecting means 4 is provided between the output signal terminals of comparators 1 - 3 of the level comparing means 1 and base resistances R4 - R6 of a driving means 2. Then the level comparing means 1 compares the level of an input signal with plural reference levels and varies the level of an output terminal where the signal exceeds the reference level to output data indicating the signal level and the peak level selecting means 4 extracts the most significant bit corresponding to the signal level from the data and makes a display unit corresponding to the reference level illuminate. Consequently, the power consumption of the display part is reducible.
