CHARGED STATE INDICATOR FOR RETARDER

PURPOSE:To realize appropriate charging by determining the charged state of battery by means of an integrating circuit disposed between a battery and an inverter circuit connected through the stator of a polyphase squirrel-cage induction motor which is connected with the driving system of engine, and then indicating thus determined charge/discharge state of battery. CONSTITUTION:Stator 20a of a squirrel-cage polyphase induction motor 20 is mounted on the driving system of an engine 1 and then a three-phase AC voltage is applied on the stator 20a thus electrically braking or accelerating a rotor section 20b. The stator section 20a is connected through an inverter circuit 31 to be controlled through a control circuit 40 and a capacitor 32 with a battery 33. A rotating field having a predetermined phase lead or lag is then applied from the inverter circuit 31 onto the stator section 20a according to the output from the control circuit 40 to bring about an auxiliary acceleration/ electric brake state thus discharging/charging the battery 33. An integrating circuit 60 integrates a discharge/charge current and displays 62 a charged capacity on a driver seat through a voltage detecting circuit 50 and a display control circuit 61. According to the constitution, an appropriate charging is conducted through a simple structure resulting in a long service life of battery.
