PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous dispersion of resin capable of forming a film improved in heat resistance and adhesiveness by melting and kneading a specific ethylene based copolymer and a specific metal oxide, etc., and dispersing the kneaded mixture in water using a water soluble (meth)acrylic resin containing amino groups. CONSTITUTION:(A) An ethylene based copolymer [e.g. ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer] to which an unsaturated carboxylic acid is bound and one or more kind of oxides, acetic acid salts and formic acid salts (e.g. zinc oxide, zinc acetate or zinc formate) of metals belonging to group II of periodic table are melted and kneaded and then the kneaded mixture is dispersed into water using a water soluble (meth)acrylic resin [e.g. N,N-dimethylaminoethyl (meth) acrylate] containing an amino group. The resultant dispersion is useful as a coating agent for paper, fiber or inorganic material, binder or heat seal agent for packaging material consisting mainly of metal foil and film. |
