PURPOSE:To enable a video camera to well forcus even on a fast moving object by providing the video camera with the function that when the operator, while looking into the view finder, selects a range of photographing distance to which a field belongs from a plurality of ranges of photographing distance, forcus information is readout, the photographing lens forcuses a range of photographing distance corresponding to the read forcus information and is fixed. CONSTITUTION:A mode selecting switch 16 is provided with button switches 16A, 16B, and 16C to be able to select mode 1 (3-5m), mode 2 (5-7m), or mode 3 (infinity ) indicating a photographing distance range. Further, a microcomputer 32, when a mode indicating a desired photographing distance range in manual forcusing, reads forcus data corresponding to the selected mode from memory 36, and determines a position of the forcus lens and a value of diaphragm of the diaphragm unit for photographing lens 22. Furthermore, the stop-down operation is carried out from an open stop-down value with the aid of output level of CCD sensor to find out an appropriate exposure. |
