<p>The vegetable materials, esp. cereal seeds, are dried to a moisture content of =10, pref. 3-5%, finely milled, diluted to a water content of >=50% and treated with a cellulytic enzyme. After opt. reducing the water content to 15-35% the oil phase is separated from the residual material. The enzyme is pref. a cellulose-forming material e.g. of the Trichoderma, Aspergillus, penicillium, or Actomyces type and is as free as possible from lipase and lipoxydase. The dry grain is pref. milled to >=50% 500 mu and >=25% 250 mu. A high quality oil in high yield is obtd which needs less refining and has a higher fatty acid content than oil, from conventional pressing processes.</p> |
