PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of image quality while saving power consumption by regulating temperature of a fixing unit on the basis of the temperatures of the fixing unit at the printing time and the other time respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a print switch is in the ON-state, an ON-signal is output from a CPU 16 to an ON/OFF circuit 15, a heater 12 is electrified, and a heating roller is heated, and then printing operation is carried out. When the print switch is in the OFF-state to the contrary, it is judged if temperature of a fixing roller is at 15 deg.C or more. If the temperature is at 15 deg.C or more, the circuit 15 is maintained in the OFF-state, while if it is not more than 15 deg.C, the circuit 15 is maintained in the ON-state to heat the fixing roller up by the heater 12. In such a way, since the fixing roller is maintained in the specified temperature (in this case, at 15 deg.C) or more, an extreme temperature drop inside a copying machine can be prevented. |
