<p>1294331 Hydrostatic bearings; gearing elements P KONINGS MACHINEFABRIEK IJZER-EN METAALGIETERIJ NV 13 Aug 1969 [13 Aug 1968 16 Nov 1968] 40195/69 Headings F2A and F2Q A screw and nut assembly has hydrostatic bearings formed between engaging surfaces, the hydrostatic bearings having liquid lubricant supplied to a region between the bearing surfaces 105 via duct 106 and led away via ducts 112 between the supply ducts and via ducts 119 at each end of the lubricated region of the assembly, escape of lubricant being prevented by providing means for maintaining pneumatic pressure around the lubricant region. The pneumatic pressure is created by supplying compressed air via ducts 117, the pressure of the air being greater than the pressure of the lubricant adjacent the return duct 119. The assembly may be cooled by fluid flowing through passages (127, Fig. 2, not shown) in the nut.</p> |
