To decorate a transparent plastic object, a pulsed laser beam (6) is fired at this object (1), the beam being focused successively on different points in the interior of the object. The object must possess internal tensions during the firing and must be of a crystalline nature. The duration and energy of the pulse are selected according to the extent of the desired decorative elements (4).
