PURPOSE:To enable easily to weld a vessel of any shape as well as any design, by using metallic grains with excellent heat conductivity as backing materials for welding part in case of welding a vessel having a small opening. CONSTITUTION:A pot 4 is formed by welding an upper material 2 having an opening 1 of small diameter to a body material 3. In this case, packing materials 5 such as ragged cloth etc. are packed in advance in the body 3 and then, said upper material 2 is placed on the body material 3. Metallic grains 6, each having a diameter of 1.5-2.5mm. and made of metals such as Cu or Al with good heat conductivity, are poured in from the opening 1 of the upper material 2 so as to be used as backing materials, and the jointing part 7 between upper material 2 and body material 3 is welded. After the welding operation is finished, the packed materials may be removed. As the backing material is made of metallic grains with good heat conductivity, the welding operation for a newly designed vessel having an opening of any size and form can be conducted without difficulty by simply packing as well as discharging the backing materials. |
