摘要 PURPOSE:To perform surface inspection following a line speed by forming the profile of a long-sized body surface, by selecting a representative flaw, obtained from the profile, on the basis of the shape, and by determining the degree of the flow by weighting. CONSTITUTION:The surface of running long-sized body 11 is scanned optically in its widthwise direction and detection head 10 photodetects and converts reflected light into an electric signal. Then, flaw-position detecting circuit 14 supplied with outputs of discriminating circuit 13 and position pulse generator 23 detects a widthwise flaw position, and profile generating circuit 15 controlled by section signal generating circuit 16 selects flows by prescribed section profiles. Representative flaw selecting circuit 17 selects a flaw of greater than a prescribed length and prescribed width in each profile, weighting circuit 20 weights it through flaw classifying circuit 18 corresponding to the kind, etc., of body 11, and degree discriminating circuit 22 determines the degree of the flow. In this constitution, the surface inspection following a line speed is performed with the same process as visual inspection.
