PURPOSE:To control and use a titled device easily, by recording a control signal in the end edge part of a tape, which is excluded from an occupied range of a track, in the case of forming a lot of tracks along the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A control track CT is formed in a blank part corresponding to a range Lo of the lower end part of a tape 11, and a control pulse is recorded so as to correspond to an initial mark corresponding to a joint part of a tape which is made endless. And, it is used for controlling a running speed of the tape 11, or controlling the searching of recording information by a recording and reproducting head, controlling the stand-by, by counting a control pulse, detecting the frequency, etc., and also it can be used effectively as a signal for stopping the tape 11 at a prescribed position, as well. |
