PURPOSE:To perform recording of multicolored picture and characters at a very high speed by selectively driving heating elements in a plurality of heating parts based on the hue data corresponding to the colors of heat transfer ink ribbons having three primary colors. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper 1 is sent by a platen 3 and rollers 4. Slits 6, through which recording position of the picture element on the recording paper is sensed by a photosensor 6a, is formed in a disc 5 which is rotated together with the plate 3. The heating elements 7a-9a of 1,024 pieces are arranged in the heating parts 7, 8, and 9 so as to cover the recording paper 1. They are arranged in the sending direction of the recording paper 1 with an equal distance being provided. The heat transfer ink ribbons 10-12 having the colors of cyan, yellow, and magenta are arranged to face the heating parts 7, 9, respectively, and contacted and compressed to the recording paper 1. Based on the hue data corresponding to the colors of said ribbons 10-12, the heating elements 7a-9a of the heating parts 7-9 are selectively driven by a selective driving circuit, picture elements are overlapped, and eight hues suchs as red, blue, green, black, etc. are recorded. |
