PURPOSE:To enhance the cutting performance of a shaving cutter for precision finish of tooth surfaces by providing edges with different inclinations for tooth faces on the same side of a shaving cutter intermittently. CONSTITUTION:No.1 tooth is provided with edges 3 parallel to the plane perpendicular to the axis of cutter on both tooth surfaces in the same manner while No. tooth with edges having different inclinations, where the number of teeth is so selected as to be cut alternately and their configuration as to provide cutting with one group teeth after another. According to this type of cutting, the tooth surface will be a crosshatch pattern to ensure an enhanced performance in cutting, that will give a tooth form of high precison for prolonged life of cutter. This cutting surface with crosshatch works also as oil sump to provide a tooth surface strongly resistant to abrasion. |
