PURPOSE:To increase rigidity of an air bag in a gas introducing port peripheral edge part so as to facilitate work for fixing the air bag by impregnating the peripheral edge part of a gas introducing port of the air bag with synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:An air bag 16 is provided with an accepting port 18 for accepting a point end side of an inflator 14, and a peripheral edge part of this accepting port 18 of the air bag is held between itself and a peripheral edge part of a mounting port 12 by a retaining ring 20. Here by arranging a ring-shaped reinforcing cloth 17 in the inflator accepting port 18 of the air bag 16 and also by impregnating both obverse/reverse surfaces of a peripheral edge part of this reinforcing cloth with synthetic resin, a thin hard plate-shaped part (ring-shaped sheet) 26 is formed. After stud bolts 28, provided in the retaining ring 20, are inserted to bolt holes 34B, 34C further to bolt holes of the inflator, the air bag 16 is held between the retaining ring 20 and a retainer 10 by the stud bolts 28. |
