摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a titled medium and to assure the stable supply thereof by specifying the compsn. of Ti in a magnetic film consisting of an alloy of iron (Fe) and titanium (Ti) formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The medium is the perpendicular recording medium constituted of the magnetic film consisting of the alloy of Fe and Ti formed on the substrate or the magnetic film consisting of the alloy contg. Fe and Ti as essential components and contg. other elements and the two-layered perpendicular magnetic recording medium constituted of the soft magnetic film and the perpendicular magnetic film consisting of the alloy of Fe and Ti formed on the substrate or the soft magnetic film and the perpendicular magnetic film consisting of the alloy contg. Fe and Ti as essential components and contg. other elements. The compsn. of Ti is specified to 15-21at% in this case. The perpendicular magnetic recording medium and the two-layered perpendicular magnetic recording medium are manufactured of the magnetic film consisting of the alloy of Fe and Ti contg. Fe which is ample in resources and inexpensive as the essential component and adequately contg. Ti which is highly resistant to corrosion and inexpensive or the magnetic film consisting of the alloy contg. Fe and Ti and further the other elements. The perpendicular magnetic recording medium which has high mass productivity, is inexpensive and has good magnetic characteristics is thereby obtd.
