PURPOSE:To enhance a quick process by completing the computation of the sum of products in terms of one partial area by computing the sum of products twice. CONSTITUTION:Variable density picture data in (m) rowX(n) column and load coefficient data corresponding to the above-mentioned data are respectively held in a first and a second shift registers 2 and 3 to which constitution is (m) picture dataX(n) stages and the variable density picture data and the load coefficient data are read out from the alternate stages of the first and the second shift registers 2 and 3 so as to be multiplied to obtain the sum, which is held in a register 6 for a while. And after shifting one stage in terms of the first and the second shift registers 2 and 3, the sum of the multiplied result obtained when the variable density picture data and the load coefficient data are read from the shift registers, in the same way, is added to the sum previously held in the register 6 so as to obtain a filtering output. Namely, by executing the computation of the sum of products of m.n/2 twice, the computation of the sum of products in terms of one partial area is completed. A time necessary for the process of filtering is reduced into 2/n. |
