<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful for textile industry, rubber industry, agricultural chemical, drug, etc., in high selectivity under an extremely mild condition by rapid reaction by reacting an aziridine compound with an amine in the presence of a solid acid catalyst in a liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:An aziridine compound shown by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, methyl or ethyl) is reacted with an amine shown by formula II (R<3> and R<4> are H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-4C aminoalkyl; m is 0-4) (especially preferably ammonia) in the presence of a solid acid catalyst in a liquid phase to give an alkyleneamine shown by formula III (n is larger than m and 1-5). A cation exchange resin, heteropolyacid, metal sulfate, clay minerals, etc., may be cited as the solid acid catalyst. By this method, the objective substance is obtained in high yield without preparing by-products such as cyclic amines. Advantageously the amount of chlorine containing waste is small because compounds containing chlorine and OH are not used as the raw material.</p> |
