<p>PURPOSE: To simplify the structure, to have light weight, and to efficiently flow fluid at low cost by providing a tubular metal bellows, both ends input- and output-side joint members, a tubular metal liner in the bellows, at least one of both joint members, and articulated joints between the liners. CONSTITUTION: The flexibility of this flexible connector 10 in the rotating direction is provided by waveforms 24, 25 of a bellows 12 and articulated arrangement of joints 20 22. When the axes of the joints 17, 19 are deviated from each other, the waveforms 24, 25 of the bellows 12 are flexibly adapted to the strain. A liner 14 has rigidity, however, its end faces 32, 34 are flexibly connected with engagement possible surfaces 17c, 19c of the joints 17, 19 respectively so that the liner 14 provides such smooth cooperative operation as freely adapting in the deformation direction of the bellows 12. The presence of the central part 26 of the bellows 12 and mutually locked recesses 36, 30 in the surfaces of the liner 14 holds the liner 14 not to displace axially to the bellows 12.</p> |
