Device for the collection of used disposable beakers and similar articles comprising a box or holder (1), e.g. a plastic waste bin, into which is placed a plastic rubbish sack (2). The bin (1) is closed off by a cover (3) in which a number of openings (4) are provided and arranged in a regular pattern of rows and columns. The dia. of each opening is such that a disposable coffee or similar beaker/cup can be easily inserted through it only in the vertical (upstanding) orientation of the disposable beaker. Preformed collectors (5) having arched surfaces (6) are formed and dimensioned such that when suspended by their sidewards-projecting edges from the lip of the bin (1), they contact adjacent collectors (5) and the sides of the bin (1) to completely fill the bin and provide a number of vertical compartments or channels aligned beneath the openings (4) for the collection and stacking of the disposable cups.
