The formulation is used in steel foundries for the preparation of wooden patterns. It comprises readily available fillers and is deposited after mixing with aliphatic polyamines with a brush or air spray gun and the coating is formed without heating as a hard and smooth film, resistant to humidity and mechanism loading. The formulation contains in wt. percent: medium molecular dian epoxy resin 25-42, xylene 15-25, toluene 12, butyl acetate 3-10, ethyl glycol 5-9, filler 13-20, plasticisers, pigments and additives 8-12. The particle size of the powdered fillers is 1-56 microns and they contain in percent: quartz powder SiO2 98, Fe2O3 O,2, Al2O3 0.46-0.65, TiO2 0.28 and traces of CaO, MgO, Na2O and K2O, lode quartz SiO2 99.0-99.9, Fe2O3 0.02 and trade amounts of TiO2.
