<p>PURPOSE:To improve the storage stability and delivery stability and enhance the lightfastness, water resistance, etc., of recorded images by incorporating a specific compound as a dispersant in a recording fluid for ink jet printers which contains an aqueous medium and a pigment. CONSTITUTION:At least one compound represented by any of formulae I, II, III and IV (wherein R1 and R3 are each a 10-20C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 and R4 are each a 6-16C alkyl or alkenyl; and M is Na or NH4), e.g. a compound of formula V, used as a dispersant, is mixed with an aqueous medium (e.g. water or propylene glycol) and a pigment (e.g. Pigment Yellow 74) to produce a recording fluid for ink jet printer. The amount of the dispersant to be added may suitably be approx. 30-70wt.% based on the weight of the pigment. Further, the addition of a surfactant may improve the quick-drying property of printed characters and the quality thereof.</p> |
