The support raster formation device uses a number of intersecting rail elements (3,5) and plug-in elements (13,33,37,38) fitted into the intermediate spaces (52) defined between the intersecting rail elements. The plug-in elements have locking tongues cooperating with corresponding openings provided by the intersecting rail elements and peripheral frame edges engaging the sides of the adjacent rail elements, each frame element used for locating a respective mosaic image element.
