<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initialization method of a fuel cell stack capable of optimizing wettedness of an electrode without using a large-scale power generation testing device, without involving consumption of fuel. <P>SOLUTION: After connecting the fuel cell stack 1 with a gas system piping and an electric system wiring, a nitrogen supplying valve 4b, a bypass valve 4c, and an exhaust valve 4d are opened, respectively, a fuel electrode 1a and an oxidant electrode 1b are purged with nitrogen, and later, after the bypass valve 4c is closed, a hydrogen supplying valve 4a is opened to supply hydrogen to the fuel electrode 1a. Then, a direct-current voltage generating device is connected, and after repeating raising and lowering of a voltage impressed on the fuel cell stack 50 times between the lowest voltage VL and the highest voltage VH, the hydrogen supplying valve 4a is closed and the bypass valve 4c is opened, and further, the bypass valve 4c is closed and the nitrogen supplying valve 4b is closed, moreover, the exhaust valve 4d is closed to complete initialization operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
