Colour photographic material useful for colour negative film

Colour photographic material has red-sensitive (RS), green-sensitive (GS) and blue-sensitive (BS) silver halide (AgX) emulsion layer(s) containing a cyan, magenta and yellow coupler respectively and optionally light-insensitive layers. The novelty is that at least one of the light-sensitive AgX emulsion layers contains an immobile 2-equivalent colour coupler (I). Under colour coupling conditions, (I) couples with a colour developer oxidation product to release a photographically inert ballast group and forms a dye that can be washed out and does not contribute to the colour density.
