PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous suspension type microorganism material good in the preservability of a useful microorganism from its culture time to its application time and capable of growing plants and controlling pests without enhancing an environmental load by sealing a carrier carrying the useful microorganism in a specific receiver. SOLUTION: This aqueous suspension type microorganism material is obtained by sealing a carrier, such as peat moss, carrying a useful microorganism having a plant-growing or pest-controlling action, such as a microorganism belonging to the genus Azospirillum, in a receiver having a filtration function capable of filtering out only the useful microorganism in an aqueous suspension, such as a receiver formed from a water-resistant raw material having pores having a pore diameter of 2-800μm. The microorganism material is preferably immersed in water to filter out only the useful microorganism and apply the obtained aqueous suspension of the useful microorganism to a base material for culturing plants or to the plants. The useful microorganism is preferably carried in a solid amount of 10<4> to 10<10> cells/g.
