THERMOSETTING COATING COMPOSITION AND COATED ARTICLE

A thermosetting coating composition which permits two-coat-one-bake application of a primerless color base and a clear top coating on a polyolefinic base material and has excellent adhesiveness, weathering resistance and appearance, and an article coated with this composition. The composition comprises a melamine resin and a graft copolymer prepared by copolymerizing a chlorinated polyolefin containing an acid anhydride with an acrylic monomer, an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a hydroxylated acrylic monomer in an organic solvent. It can be used as a two-coat-one-bake primerless color base for a polyolefinic base material.
