PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably execute help display required by a user. SOLUTION: The history of key input operation by an input means 1 such as a keyboard is stored in a key input operation history storing means 4 and a key input operation vector expressing the feature of key input operation is generated by a key input operation vector generating means 5 by using a key vector dictionary 8 storing key vectors expressing the features of respective keys. A retrieving means 6 retrieves a function corresponding to the key input operation from the generated key input operation vector and the feature vector of the function stored in a function explanation data base 7 and displays the retrieved function on an output means 2.
